For my third of the Steal Like an Artist series I tried something new. Yesterday, I came across the Grammarly Ad, and today I tried to get inspired from it. Instead of creating a pixel perfect replica of an existing interface, this challenge has allowed me to draw inspiration as a reference and build my own version. The floating notification I designed for myself is live on all journal posts.
Learnings & findings
Focus on adding uniqueness. Because I was drawing inspiration for layout, size, spacing, font sizes, and other nitty-gritty details, the process drew my attention to communicating the message. As a result, I came up with a visual representation of "highlighting the text' with the text being highlighted, and the subtle touch of the ibeam cursor.
