My mother is planning to visit a temple of wealth and career prosperity. Since I won't be joining her, she asked if "I have anything she can wish for on my behalf" and this got me thinking.

If you are granted 1 wish for yourself about your career or wealth, what would it be? Does it help you achieve your goals in life? Is your wish simply to avoid being jobless or to have a job?

Is your wish to achieve your life goal? If so, is that really what you want? Everything you worked for so far without sweat and tears is now done. Your life vision, accomplished.

For example, if your life goal is to eradicate poverty in the world and your wish was instantly granted. Livelihood would certainly improve but suffering would mostly arise in other forms. Would you rephrase your life goal to eradicate suffering in the world? Now is a world without suffering an enjoyable world?

Maybe poverty is just one aspect of suffering that you decided to specialize in. Maybe you just want to help people. Maybe you just want to see people happy. Maybe your official job position is a means for you to achieve that goal.
